Richard David Collins, Camera Operator | Editor
Born and educated in Swansea, I studied for my BA (Hons) Video Art at Swansea Metropolitan University, where I discovered my love of digital media.
Since graduating, I’ve been working for National Museum Wales where I’ve gained commissions to work on gallery content across the organisation.
Working at such a modern and pioneering museum, has led to opportunities to update the exhibition and visitor experience.
I have worked in the television industry as a Camera Operator
for independent television company Telesgop, and more recently I’ve worked as first Assistant Camera on documentary and fiction projects with Cardiff based Wild Dream Films, and with the BBC on Crimewatch.
I’ve been fortunate to have filmed on many formats, from prosumer SD, HDV, GoPro helmet cameras, HDSLR and P2 broadcast, to the RED ONE 4k digital cinema camera.
My main editing platform is Final Cut Pro, but I have experience with both Adobe Premiere and Avid Media Composer.
